Progress

This last few weeks have shown us the potentiality for turning our small candle and soap business into something larger and if you'd follow me through a bit of my daily ramblings, maybe you might have a piece of advice to offer. Earth Berry Apothecary was created originally for candles only. My wife was pregnant and we had been hearing all sorts of things about how store-bought candles have harmful chemicals that expecting parents should not be exposed to.

It turned out to be a very common problem as many parents were becoming wise to additives like phthalate (used for scents, yet typically used in products to harden plastic) and parabens (Google that one, they harm reproductive organs and are know to cause cancer, whoa now..). This was starting to surface itself in popular culture and it was beginning to seem like people these days were growing distrustful of scented candles while associating them with harmful additives and unnatural smells.

We set out on a mission to create products that are made with safe ingredients, yet invigorating aromas. While it is currently impossible to smell a photo, we have to advertise our products though creative means including suggestive photography and poetically descriptive terminology. Some of you have caught on and trusted that these products are wildly superior to the famous ones I'm not allowed to mention. The fact is that, like the leading brand I bash in other posts, these mainstream products are smelly garbage that are made with zero intention.

You can see it on the faces of the many people who pass through our home shop or farmers' market pop-ups. I've watched so many eyes roll back into so many heads just from opening the lid to an Earth Berry candle. I've seen people who hate coffee lose themselves to our Freshly Roasted Coffee Soy Candle. The witchy folk love Wolf Pack or Blessed Be, two of many creations which cannot be found anywhere else, and everyone loves Lavender Honey (for similar reasons.. naughty, naughty ;)).

Whatever you're into, know that you are in good hands with Earth Berry. We love this job and we are watching it grow at an exciting pace. It's quickly becoming known both locally and in other states and currently the sky is the limit.

Advice: start your own company. Other advice: do good business. We thank you eternally for helping us carve an awesome new path for our family and we look forward to making your senses very, very happy!
